The aim of this study was to identify the pharmacological treatment and its adverse effects in adults with migraine who attend a pharmacy in San Juan de Miraflores, Lima – 2024. The research was basic in type, with a quantitative approach, hypothetical-deductive method, non experimental design, correlational scope, and cross-sectional cut. The population was undefined, and the sample consisted of 113 users. The results showed that 38.1% use acetylsalicylic acid, while only 0.9% use isonixine or metamizole. A total of 52.2% use medication on demand and 14.2% use it daily. Ibuprofen was the drug with the most reported adverse effects (39.8%), and nausea was the most common symptom (32.7%), although isolated cases of anxiety and hypertension were also reported (0.9%). Regarding severity, 58.4% rated the adverse effects as mild and 11.5% as severe. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between pharmacological treatment and adverse effects (p=0.02; Rho=0.798), between treatment and the use of analgesics (p=0.001; Rho=0.820), and between medication and gastrointestinal symptoms (p=0.002; Rho=0.886). It is concluded that pharmacological treatment for migraine in adults attending a pharmacy in San Juan de Miraflores is associated with a variety of adverse effects.
