Ítem Acceso abierto Leadership and job performance of the nursing professional in the emergency service of a hospital in Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-08-27) Cuno Quispe, Nury Elizabeth; Montoro Valdivia, Marcos AntonioIntroduction: The World Health Organization (WHO) states that in the world there are 19.3 million professional nursing personnel, which is the revelation of 4.8 million in the period 2013-2018, so the institution emphasizes, it is necessary to strengthen the leadership of these professionals, with the sole consequence of granting guarantee of care and in that way, it can contribute to the effectiveness and individual performance. Objective: To determine how leadership and work performance are related in the health team of the emergency service of a national hospital in Peru, during the year 2023. Method: The research will be hypothetical – deductive, quantitative approach, applied type, nonexperimental design, descriptive level – correlational and cross-sectional, in addition for convenience a sample of 60 nursing professionals who attend in the emergency area of a Hospital of the Ministry of Health of the department of Lima in the year 2023 was chosen. To measure leadership, the questionnaire developed by Casales (2006), adapted and validated for nursing professionals in the emergency department by the Peruvian researcher Bach, will be used. Edelisa Yarcuri in her master's thesis "Leadership styles and work performance in workers of the Huancasancos Health Center" in 2018. The questionnaire to measure work performance was designed and validated by Peruvian researcher Kely Ortega in her Master's thesis "Leadership and performance of nursing professionals in the emergency service of an EsSalud Hospital" in 2016.
