    Factores asociados a la automedicación de antibióticos en comerciantes del mercado Virgen de las Mercedes del distrito de Juliaca, San Román, Puno, 2021

    The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between factors associated with antibiotic self-medication among vendors at the Virgen las Mercedes market. Method: The approach was quantitative, with a basic type, a non-experimental design, and a correlational level. The sample consisted of 305 people. An instrument was used to measure associated factors and antibiotic self-medication, and the technique employed was a survey. For statistical analysis, SPSS Version 25.0 and the Chi-squared test of independence were used. Results: A significant relationship was found between the 'accessibility' dimension (regarding non-prescription antibiotic consumption) and the following variables: age (p = 0.000), vendor's educational level (p = 0.000), health insurance affiliation (p = 0.000), and source of information on antibiotic use (p = 0.000). A significant relationship was also found between the 'disease that motivated self-medication' dimension and age (p = 0.011), educational level (p = 0.046), and economic income (p = 0.018). Furthermore, a significant relationship was found between the 'antibiotic group' dimension (regarding the antibiotic group acquired) and the source of information on antibiotic use (p = 0.003). Conclusion: A relationship exists between the factors associated with antibiotic self-medication among vendors at the Virgen las Mercedes market.
