Methodology: The study was developed, using the hypothetical deductive method, of a quantitative approach, of an applied type, of a non-experimental design, of a cross section and of a correlational level; in a sample of 90 participants; in turn, a questionnaire of questions with response options was used as a measurement instrument, to quantify the leve of knowledge that mothers have and the use of a collection format. Results: It is evident that 55.6% had a medium level of knowledge, 34.4% had a low level and 10% a high level. Regarding nutritional status, 62.2% of children had a normal diagnosis, 28.9% had a diagnosis of low weight and 8.9% had a diagnosis of overweight. It was determined that there is a relationship between the information dimension on complementary feeding and nutritional status (p = 0.002); and the correlation according to was positive low. A relationship was found between the characteristic dimension on complementary feeding and nutritional status (p = 0.037); and the correlation according to was positive low. The relationship that exists between the types of food dimension on complementary feeding and nutritional status in children was determined (p = 0.011); and the correlation according to was positive low. Conclusion: It is concluded by determining the relationship that exists between the level of knowledge about complementary feeding in mothers and the nutritional status in children from 6 to 24 months, where the value of statistical significance of p = 0.000; and a moderate positive correlation according to Spearman of Rho = 0.481.
