Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review. A total of 10 articles were selected, with 30% corresponding to Brazil, 30% to multiple countries (Brazil, Cuba, Peru, Ecuador, and Guatemala), (Brazil, Germany, Russia, and the USA), (South Africa and Latin America), 10% found in Sweden, 10% in Indonesia, 10% in Pakistan, and 10% in South Africa. Results: In children with low birth weight, zinc administration has a positive effect. The administration of zinc in children under 5 years of age benefits their linear growth. Zinc can be administered in the following ways: as a fortifier, in combination with micronutrients, which has good synergy, or alone if necessary. In all cases, it benefits children with low height, and zinc should be administered in specific demographic areas to avoid growth delay. Conclusions: According to the systematic reviews, the effects of zinc administration in children under 5 years of age have a positive impact on their linear growth.
