    Relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y el nivel de adherencia en pacientes con tuberculosis del Hospital de Huaycán, enero–diciembre 2018

    The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about tuberculosis and the level of adherence in patients diagnosed with tuberculosis. The methodology used was a correlational method. The sample consisted of 138 patients diagnosed with tuberculosis, who were enrolled in the Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Health Strategy at the Level II Huaycán Hospital. The data collection techniques were a survey and a documentary review, using an interview and a documentary information collection form as instruments. Result: The predominant level of knowledge about the disease was medium (71% or 98), and the predominant level of adherence was also medium (71% or 98). Based on the calculated bivariate correlational estimates, a direct positive correlation was found between both variables. Conclusion: It was determined that a direct positive correlation exists between the level of knowledge and the level of adherence, meaning that greater knowledge leads to greater treatment adherence.
