Work stress in nursing is very common, that is, it affects physically, mentally and socially. These factors lead to high levels of stress among nurses, which lead to negative consequences such as: delay or absence from work, depression, fatigue, and poor job performance. Objective: To determine the relationship between work stress and job performance of health personnel in the emergency service in times of covid at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases, Lima 2022. Methods: The approach was quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design. The population will be made up of nursing professionals from the emergency area of the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases, being 100 in total. The instruments will be the work stress scale (NSS) and a validated questionnaire for job performance. The results will allow the implementation of improvement actions in the institution.
