Ítem Acceso abierto Academic stress and fear of contracting coronavirus in university students of the ninth cycle EAP of Nursing Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener - 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-04-29) Damas Quispe, Vanesa Lesly; Uturunco Vera, Milagros LizbethObjective: To determine the level of academic stress and fear of contracting coronavirus in ninth-cycle university students from the Nursing School - Norbert Wiener Private University – 2021. Materials and Methods: The inductive-deductive method was used for this basic research, which has a quantitative approach and a descriptive design. The SISCO academic stress instrument by Barraza, adapted by Alania, Llancari, Rafaele, and Ortega (2020), was applied. This instrument consisted of 47 items and three dimensions (stressors, symptoms, coping strategies), with a reliability of 0.88 in Cronbach's alpha. Additionally, the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) by Ahorsu (2020), composed of 7 items and two dimensions (emotional fear reactions and fear expressions), was used. Regarding the main problem, it was observed that the academic stress variable had 64.29% representing a medium level, while the fear of contracting coronavirus variable showed 78.6%, representing a high level. Conclusions: The research reveals significant levels of academic stress and fear of contracting coronavirus, influenced by the ongoing health crisis we are currently experiencing.
