Publicación Acceso abierto Hábitos saludables asociados a la prevalencia y síntomas en tres enfermedades digestivas, en adultos atendidos en una botica de Villa el Salvador, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-05) Arbulu Cabezas, Grette Estefani; Damián De la Cruz, Jorge Juan; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe objective of this study was to identify the relationship between healthy habits and the prevalence and symptoms of three digestive diseases in adults treated at a pharmacy in Villa El Salvador, 2023. Methodology: Hypothetical-deductive method, basic research, descriptive-correlational scope, quantitative approach, sample of 196 adults, non-probabilistic sampling. Results: Of 196 adults, 80.1% were between 31–50 years old, 57.7% were female; regarding food consumption habits: 34.2% consumed insoluble fiber; 36.7% soluble fiber; 12.8% high-fat foods; regarding hydration and eating habits: 41.8% drank 2 liters of water per day; 15.8% consumed coffee or soda; regarding exercise and mental health habits: 66.3% engaged in physical activity; 4.6% reported feelings of sadness; 3.1% feelings of guilt; 11.2% had difficulty sleeping. Symptoms of peptic ulcer: 17.9% abdominal pain; 8.2% nausea and vomiting; 31.6% bloating. Symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux: 28.6% heartburn; 19.9% food regurgitation; 14.8% upper abdominal pain; 3.6% difficulty swallowing. Symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome: 12.8% stomach cramps; 18.4% increased gas; 26% diarrhea and/or constipation; 22.4% abdominal distension. Prevalence: 16.3% peptic ulcer; 10.2% gastroesophageal reflux; 21.9% irritable bowel syndrome. Conclusion: Healthy habits were related to the prevalence and symptoms of the three digestive diseases.
