Ítem Acceso abierto Perceived stress and sleep quality in Psychology Students of Metropolitan Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-04-30) Davalos Checco, Kelly Lucero; Turriate Chávez, Jairo JaimePerceived stress is based on the perception or evaluation that a person has of a stressful situation. Likewise, psychology students may show various physical, psychological, and behavioral symptoms when it comes to sleep, due to demands or pressures, such as a deterioration in sleep quality, affecting their performance and quality of life. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the relationship between perceived stress and sleep quality among psychology students from Metropolitan Lima, 2023. The methodology was quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational. The Perceived Stress Scale (EPGE-13) and the Sleep Quality Scale were applied to a sample of 209 psychology students in Metropolitan Lima. The results show that 80.4% of psychology students have a high level of negative stress, and 82.3% have a medium level of sleep quality. Finally, it was found that perceived stress correlates inversely with sleep quality (rho = -0.450; p = 0.00 < 0.05), meaning that as perceived stress increases, sleep quality decreases.
