Ítem Acceso abierto Timing of administration of intravenous thrombolytics in patients with ischemic stroke to limit damage and disability(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-09-22) De Rio Monteluis, Claudia Patricia; Cruz Carranza, Jonathan; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleMaterial and methods: The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles evidenced on the administration time of intravenous thrombolytics in patients with ischemic stroke were obtained from the databases Pubmed, Scielo, Medline, Ebsco, Elsevier, Dialnet, ProQuest. They were analyzed according to the Grade scale to determine the strength and quality of the evidence. 10 articles systematically reviewed, 10% (n= 1/10) are systematic review, 50% (n= 5/10) are cohorts, 10% (n=1/10) are randomized controlled, 10% (n= 1/10) is retrospective cross-sectional, 10% (n= 1/10) is observational and the other 10% (n=1/10) is meta-analysis. Being of high quality 30% (n=3/10), moderate quality 60% (n=6/10) and low quality 10% (n=1/10). Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 30% highlight the importance of administration time between 3 to 4.5 hrs, 20% indicate that administration is safe and effective in less than 3 hrs, 40% find no difference significant between the 0-3hr and 3-4.5hr groups as a relevant factor for administering intravenous thrombolytics. Conclusions: 9 of 10 articles conclude that the time for the administration of intravenous thrombolytics is up to 4.5 hours as a treatment to reduce damage and disability.
