    Factors involved in patient adherence to cardiac rehabilitation programs

    Objective: To determine the factors that influence patient adherence with cardiovascular disease (CVD) to cardiac rehabilitation programs. Materials and Methods: The analysis technique employed was the development of summary tables and intensive critical evaluation of the articles according to established technical criteria. Results: The studies reviewed, comprising 8 articles, have a high recommendation strength; 50% of them originated from Spain, while the other 50% was divided between Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, and Costa Rica, with the majority being case-control designs. Conclusion: Economic status, age, emotional aspects, and relationships with healthcare staff are factors that positively influence adherence to cardiac rehabilitation treatments, whereas female gender and concomitant pathologies are factors that negatively influence adherence.

    The study titled Factors Influencing Patient Adherence to Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs aimed to determine the factors that influence patient adherence with cardiovascular disease (CVD) to cardiac rehabilitation programs. It was a systematic review involving a population of 8 scientific articles published in indexed journals, which were obtained from the databases Dialnet, Lilacs, Scielo, EbscoHost, and Proquest. Materials and Methods: The analysis technique employed was the development of summary tables and intensive critical evaluation of the articles according to established technical criteria. Results: The studies reviewed, comprising 8 articles, have a high recommendation strength; 50% of them originated from Spain, while the other 50% was divided between Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, and Costa Rica, with the majority being case-control designs.
