    Factors related to the level of knowledge about breastfeeding in primigravidas during the third trimester treated at the Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho 2019

    69% of users with high knowledge were single, 71.4% of users with high knowledge had university education, 66.7% of users with high knowledge were engaged in dependent work, 66.7% of users with high knowledge were from the highland region, 59.3% of users with low knowledge believed that breastfeeding for long periods causes sagging breasts, unlike those who did not believe this and had high knowledge. 10.2% of users with medium knowledge believed that the first breast milk is harmful to the newborn, 32.7% of users believed that women with cholera alter the quality of their milk, and 65.3% of users with medium knowledge believed that artificial milk is the best option. Conclusion: The factors associated with the level of knowledge about breastfeeding were education level, occupation, use of infusions to prevent gas in newborns, and the use of milk, all statistically significant.

    Knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding the use of hormonal contraceptive methods in general studies students at a private university in Metropolitan Lima, 2018

    Objective: Establish the level of knowledge, attitude and practice on the use of hormonal contraceptive methods in general studies students of a Private University of metropolitan Lima, 2018. Material and Methods: The study was observational, descriptive and prospective cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 48 students, calculated with an algorithm for known populations. Results: The average age was 20.7 years, marital status: 50% single, 35.4% married, 14.6% cohabiting, and religion: 68.8% Catholic. 87.5% had high knowledge about hormonal contraceptive methods and 12.5% ​​had low knowledge. For attitudes, 70% disagree that their partner decides which contraceptive method they should use, 30% agree that their partner decides the method they should use. 100% disagree that the use of contraceptive methods is a sin. 84% disagree with feeling ashamed to request a contraceptive method. In practice, 45.8% do not use any contraceptive method, 27.1% use hormonal methods, 18.8% use barrier method and 8.3% use natural methods, 19% use contraceptive pills, 6% use contraceptive implants and patches, 2% use contraceptive injections and 73% do not use hormonal contraceptives. Conclusion: The general studies students of a Private University of Metropolitan Lima have high knowledge about hormonal contraceptive methods, as an attitude they agree with hormonal contraceptives and in practice the hormonal method of greatest choice is pills.

    Refocused prenatal care and obstetric complications during childbirth and postpartum in pregnant women at the San Juan de Lurigancho Hospital and the Pampas-Tayacaja Hospital. Period 2018.

    Objective: To determine whether focused prenatal care is related to obstetric complications during labor and postpartum in pregnant women attended at the San Juan de Lurigancho (SJL) Hospital in Lima and the Pampas Tayacaja-Huancavelica (PTH) Hospital during 2018. Materials and Methods: This was a non-experimental, basic, comparative, observational, retrospective, cross-sectional study. The hypothetical-deductive method was used. The study population consisted of 768 pregnant women from SJL Hospital and 480 from PTH Hospital, who received prenatal care services from July to December 2018. A sample of 122 pregnant women from the first hospital and 106 from the second was taken. Results: The frequency of focused care was 4.1% in SJL and 14.2% in PTH. The most common age group in both hospitals was 20 to 34 years (71.50%), with 13.6% over 35 years and 14.90% adolescents. The most frequent complication in both hospitals was first-degree tears, observed in 31.1% (SJL) and 10.40% (PTH). Second-degree tears were more prevalent at SJL Hospital (9.80%) and absent at PTH Hospital. Postpartum hemorrhage occurred in 0.9% of cases at PTH Hospital, with no cases at SJL Hospital. No statistically significant differences in labor and postpartum complications were found between focused and non-focused patients (p>0.05). However, the proportion of complications was lower among focused patients. Conclusion: The incidence of focused prenatal care was significantly higher in Huancavelica than in Lima. No statistically significant differences were found in labor and postpartum complications between focused and non-focused patients.

    Use of the internet and start of sexual activity in students of the fisrt and second cycle of the profesional academic school of obstetrics, Private University Norbert Wiener; in the semester 2019-I. Lima

    The study aimed to determine the association between internet use and the initiation of sexual relationships among students from the first and second cycles of the Professional School of Obstetrics at the Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener in Lima, during the 2019-I semester. The study was non-experimental, basic, relational, observational, cross-sectional, and analytical. Results showed that 88.2% of students were under 20 years old, 88.2% were women, and 96.5% were single. The majority of students aged 16 to 19 used the internet more hours a day, accessed more types of social media, and visited educational, recreational, pornographic, and social websites more frequently. However, the study concluded that the time spent on the internet, sociodemographic characteristics, types of social networks, and types of websites did not influence the initiation of sexual relationships among the surveyed students.
