Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and attitudes in the face of a large-magnitude earthquake in the emergency service nurses of the regional hospital of Huacho, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-15) Diaz Chavez, Marylin del Pilar; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosIntroduction: Hospital systems are at the core of disaster resilience because they must provide timely critical healthcare services to communities during an emergency response. As cities are becoming larger and more densely populated, natural disasters are affecting public health on a larger scale. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes towards a large-magnitude earthquake in emergency nurses at the Huacho Regional Hospital, 2021 Materials and methods: The approach will be quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design. The population will be made up of nursing professionals from the emergency area of the Huacho Regional Hospital. According to the hospital's human resources office, there are currently 30 nursing professionals rotating through said service. The research will work with the entire population, called a census sample. The technique to be used is the survey. The knowledge questionnaire consists of 20 items and 3 dimensions (disaster risk management, preparation and response process, earthquakes). The instrument for assessing attitudes is a Likert-type scale with 20 items and 3 dimensions (cognitive attitude, psycho-emotional attitude, behavioural attitude). Both were subject to the judgment of 4 experts, whose rating was good on average. Regarding reliability, a pilot test was applied to 15 participants with similar characteristics, obtaining a Kuder Richardson index value (KR 20) equal to 0.82 for both instruments.
