Ítem Acceso abierto Psychomotor development and academic performance in students of a private educational center, Santa Anita, 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-04) Durand Sulca, Rosa Andrea; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloyObjective: To determine the relationship between psychomotor development and academic performance in students of a private educational institution in Santa Anita, 2024. Materials and methods: The TEPSI tool was used to measure psychomotor development, applied to a sample of 50 students from the Diego Thomson Private Educational Center during 2024. The methodology is hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental design, and a cross-sectional correlational sub-design. Data were analyzed using SPSS, and the Spearman’s Rho statistic was used to determine correlation. Results: The study found that 50% of children were male, and the predominant age was 5 years (56%). 66% were at a normal psychomotor development level, and 16% were delayed. 52% of children achieved grade A (surpassed achievement), and 18% achieved grade B (in process) in academic performance. Conclusions: A significant relationship was found between psychomotor development and academic performance, with a positive medium correlation of Rho= 0.690.
