The present secondary research titled as a critical review: Influence of diet on the composition of the intestinal microbiota in patients with chronic non-communicable diseases under 75 years of age, aimed to analyze the influence of the type of diet on the composition of the intestinal microbiota of patients with NCD under 75 years of age. The clinical question was: What is the type of diet that improves the composition of the intestinal microbiota in patients under 75 years of age who suffer from chronic non-communicable diseases? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, NML, Cochrane Library, finding 36 articles, 10 were selected that have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, finally selecting the Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial entitled Mediterranean diet intervention in overweight and obese subjects lowers plasma cholesterol and causes changes in the gut microbiome and metabolome independently of energy intake, which has a level of evidence I and Grade of Recommendation Strong, according to the researcher's expertise. The critical commentary allowed us to conclude that the Mediterranean diet positively influences the composition of the intestinal microbiota in patients with NCD under 75 years of age and can be considered within the nutritional intervention in these people.
