    The objective of this study was to examine the available evidence on the adverse effects of non-caloric sweeteners in pregnant women through a systematic review, applying a descriptive, cross-sectional study methodology. From a total of 184 articles, 15 were selected using the PRISMA algorithm (identification, screening, eligibility, inclusion) as the instrument. The search, which was validated by expert judgment, was conducted in databases such as PubMed, Ebsco, MedLine, Lilacs, Scielo, Scopus, and Google Scholar using the keywords "Adverse effects of non-nutritive sweeteners in pregnant women." The selected articles met the inclusion criteria and addressed the PICO question. It is concluded that the topic of non-caloric sweeteners is controversial. Therefore, the information compiled in this systematic review aims to present a panorama that helps to understand the results of studies that provide greater knowledge about the effects of non-caloric sweetener consumption during pregnancy in humans.
