    Relationship Between Cockcroft-Gault Equations and 24-Hour Urinary Creatinine Clearance in Adults at a Hospital in Callao from January to March 2016

    The objective was to determine the relationship between the Cockcroft-Gault equations and creatinine clearance in 24-hour urine in adults from a hospital in Callao during the period from January to March 2016. The correlation between these laboratory methods for all patients was moderate, with a significance level lower than the expected significance level. Women aged 18-30 had a weak correlation, women aged 31-64 had a weak correlation, and women aged 65 and older had a weak correlation. Men aged 18-30 had a weak correlation, men aged 31-64 had a moderate correlation, and men aged 65 and older had a moderate correlation. All the cases mentioned showed a significant difference. This study determined a low correlation between the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) using the Cockcroft–Gault equation and the creatinine clearance equation.
