Publicación Acceso abierto Prácticas de alimentación y su asociación con la anemia ferropénica en mujeres embarazadas del Centro Materno Infantil Lurin Lima, Perú periodo de marzo a junio 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-03-19) Huamán Yarasca, Susi Patricia; Ruiz Chumpitaz, Patricia Mónica; Estacio Huamán, MarthaThe research, titled "Feeding Practices and their Association with Iron-Deficiency Anemia in Pregnant Women at the Lurín Maternal and Child Center, Lima-Peru," had the Objective of determining the feeding practices and their association with iron-deficiency anemia in pregnant women at the Lurín Maternal and Child Center, Lima-Peru, from March to June 2019. Methods: A quantitative, correlational observational, and cross-sectional study was conducted at the Lurín Maternal and Child Center. A questionnaire (instrument) was previously validated by expert judgment. The sample consisted of 120 pregnant women who attended the Obstetrics consultation service, after providing informed consent. Feeding practices were evaluated according to parameters such as number of daily servings, type of food, and consumption of iron supplements. Subsequently, their pregnancy charts were reviewed to identify their Hemoglobin level and the presence of anemia. Results: A total of 76 pregnant women had adequate feeding practices, of whom 17.1% had anemia and 82.9% did not. Conclusion: It was determined that a significant association exists between feeding practices and iron-deficiency anemia.
