Determinación de calcio y fósforo en mujeres post menopáusicas como factor de riesgo de osteopenia en el asentamiento humano “Jaime Yoshiyama” del distrito de Ventanilla, Lima – Perú, en el período de abril 2018–diciembre 2019

Osteoporosis primarily affects postmenopausal women, mainly those between 50 and 60 years old, manifesting as deterioration of bone tissue and bone structure. The study determined the levels of calcium and phosphorus in the blood. A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted using the colorimetric method on a sample of 100 apparently healthy women. Results: The analysis of the samples showed that 62% had decreased phosphorus levels and 61% had decreased calcium levels, with a 95% confidence level. This study reveals that low serum levels of calcium and phosphorus are independent risk factors for the development of osteopenia, especially during the menopausal period.
