Horacio Zevallos de Ate, Lima 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-09-07) Felix Quispe, Lissett Ishamar; Montes Ramirez, Rosa Roxana; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerThe objective of the study was to determine the factors that influence the adherence of mothers of children under 1 year old to the growth and development program at the P.S. Horacio Zevallos in Ate. Method: The study had a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional approach, with the technique being the interview and documentary analysis. The instruments used were the questionnaire and checklist, and adherence was determined based on the clinical history. The sampling was probabilistic and consisted of 145 mothers. Results: The ages of the mothers that stood out the most were between 20 and 39 years old (58.6%); occupation as housewives (56.6%); in economic factors, household chores were the most prominent (66%); in the knowledge factor, the information provided by the nurse was considered little useful (76%); and in the institutional factor, the waiting time (79%). Regarding adherence to the growth and development control, 61% of the children did not comply with their scheduled controls and had one absence. Conclusions: It was observed that economic, knowledge, and institutional factors influence mothers' adherence. There is no adherence because most mothers do not attend the respective controls.
