Publicación Acceso abierto Síntomas de la menopausia con relación al empleo de hierbas medicinales en mujeres mayores de 45 años que acuden al mercado Huamantanga, Puente Piedra, 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-04-16) Condori Balbin, Jessy Gabriel; Felix Roque, Roma Sunmi; Ñañez del Pino, DanielThe objective was to analyze the symptoms of menopause in relation to the use of medicinal herbs in women over 45 years of age who go to the Huamantanga market, Puente Piedra, 2024. Methods. The study included a cross-sectional, quantitative approach, , basic type, correlational scope, hypothetical deductive method, non-experimental design, sample consisting of 155 women, the sampling was systematic random probabilistic, the survey technique and the instrument a questionnaire, using Spearman's Rho analysis the hypothesis was tested. Results. Of 155 women, 47.3% were between 46-50 years old, 36.8% were married. Somatic symptoms of menopause were moderate; 38.1% joint pain; 32.3% headache; 35.5% difficulty sleeping; psychological symptoms were mild; 52.9% mood swings; 25.2% excessive worry and 45.2% feeling sad; urogenital symptoms were mild; 54.2% increased urination frequency, 27.1% loss of lividity and 33.5% vaginal dryness; behavioral symptoms were mild; 44.5% had difficulty concentrating and 38.1% felt in a bad mood. In use of medicinal herbs; 16.8% used ginseng; 31% ginger; 28.4% soybeans; 21.3% St. John's wort, 27.7% valerian; 29% used the leaves; 21.9% the roots; 33.5% the bark; 31% prepared it as a decoction, 38.1% as an infusion. There was a significant relationship (p=0.000; rho=0.487) between menopause symptoms and the use of medicinal herbs. Conclusion. There is a moderate positive correlation between menopause symptoms and the use of medicinal herbs in women over 45 years of age.
