Publicación Acceso abierto Nivel de conocimiento de la acción hipoglucemiante del rambutan (Nephelium lappaceun L.) y uso como terapia complementaria de los pacientes de la botica Capricornio, distrito de San Martin de Porres – Lima, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-07-08) Astuhuamán Chávez, Kinverlin Estela; Fernández Huerta de Martínez, Miuren Yvett Catherine; Guadalupe Sifuentes de Posadas, Luz FabiolaRambutan is an exotic fruit from Malaysia that is cultivated in the central Peruvian jungle. Metabolites with hypoglycemic activity have been found in its seed and peel. Objective: This study aimed to determine the level of knowledge of the hypoglycemic action of rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) and its use as a complementary therapy for type 2 diabetes among patients of the Capricornio drugstore in the San Martín de Porres district, Lima, in 2022. Methodology: The design was non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional, and correlational in scope. A validated data collection instrument was used on a sample of 220 patients who visited the Capricornio drugstore. Results: Positive results were obtained for the four specific hypotheses proposed, so the alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis was rejected. Conclusions: The evaluation of patients at the Capricornio drugstore concluded that as knowledge of rambutan's hypoglycemic action increases, the use of complementary therapy also increases, thus confirming the general hypothesis of the study.
