Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and attitudes about cardiopulmonary resuscitation in students of the second emergency and disaster specialty of the Norbert Wiener Private University, 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-09-20) Figueroa Nima, Cynthia Sue; Uturunco Vera, Milagros LizbethCardiovascular problems continue to be considered a public health issue globally, as they are one of the leading causes of death in humans. Some cardiac conditions can trigger a cardiac arrest, which is an alarming situation since breathing and circulation are interrupted, potentially leading to death if basic life support is not administered within 10 seconds of the cardiac arrest. It is therefore crucial to practice CPR according to ILCOR recommendations. Healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors, technicians, etc.) should have knowledge and the right attitude for handling cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergency services. In this context, knowledge of Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a set of information based on instructions and experience. Acquiring this knowledge is essential for nursing professionals as it enables them to apply it in practice and demonstrate attitudes that can contribute to restoring life. Thus, knowledge of CPR is a key action that nursing staff must know to act in a medical emergency.
