Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge and preventive practices on pressure ulcers of the nursing staff in the intensive care unit in a private clinic, Lima 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-12-03) Flores Bazán, Prissila Ximena; Montoro Valdivia, Marcos AntonioIntroduction: Pressure ulcers are injuries that affect the skin and underlying tissue caused by different factors such as malnutrition, prolonged periods in bed, altered state of consciousness, terminal illnesses, etc. These injuries are the first cause of morbidity and mortality in critical units, since they not only affect the patient's quality of life, but also impact the patient's recovery, further complicating the pathology for which they were admitted, deteriorating the chances of recovery. Objective: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and preventive practices on pressure ulcers of nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit of a clinic of Lima in 2023. Methodology: The research method is hypothetical-deductive, quantitative approach, correlational level, non-experimental design, cross-sectional. The population will be finite and will be made up of 60 nursing professionals from the intensive care unit of a private clinic in Lima. The technique that will be the survey, through the questionnaire for the first variable "Level of knowledge about pressure ulcer", by the author Zevallo V, with a reliability of 0.99 in Crombach's Alpha, and for the second variable the technique It will be observation using the checklist to measure the “Preventive Practices on Pressure Ulcers” by the author Carazas H, with a reliability of 0.83 in Crombach's Alpha; both instruments validated by expert judgment. Data processing and analysis will be carried out using a database and the SPSS 26 program, and hypothesis testing will be carried out using Person's Chi Square.
