Ítem Acceso abierto Participation of parents in the care of hospitalized pre-school children in the pediatric emergency service of an EsSalud hospital in Lima, 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-08-01) Flores Meza, Ayde Luzmila; Suarez Valderrama, Yurik AnatoliObjective: Identify the participation of parents in the care of the preschooler hospitalized in the pediatric emergency service of an EsSalud Hospital, Lima 2019. Material and method: The study was quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional. The sample was 80 parents of hospitalized preschoolers. A survey on parental participation was used, which were tabulated and statistically analyzed. The results: When applying the instrument it was found that the majority are female with 85%, with ages from 31 to 40 years 67.5%, in civil status 50% cohabiting, with a degree of professional education 50% and with two children under their care 42.5%. Regarding the participation of parents in the care of the hospitalized preschooler, it is good 71.3%, average 23.8% and poor 5%. According to physical dimensions it is good 67.5%, fair 25% and poor 7.5% and according to emotional dimensions it is good 73.8%, fair 20%, poor 6.3% Likewise, according to indicators of parental participation in the care of the preschooler, 88.8% is good and corresponds (I pet my son when I am with him), 53.8% is regular and corresponds (I wash my hand before entering my child's unit), 11.3% are deficient in reciprocating (my presence provides emotional security for my child). Conclusion: The participation of parents in the care of preschoolers is mostly good.
