Publicación Acceso abierto Relación entre uso racional de equipos de protección personal y estrés laboral del equipo quirurgico en Complejo Hospitalario PNP Luis N. Saenz - 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-08-05) Flores Ochoa, Flor Elena; Maguiña Palma, Misael EriksonThe present study aimed to determine the relationship between the rational use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and occupational stress among the surgical team at the PNP Luis N. Sáenz Hospital Complex during 2022. The research was conducted using a quantitative, applied approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The population consisted of healthcare professionals from the surgical center, who participated voluntarily. Data collection was carried out using the survey technique, applying validated instruments to measure the variables rational use of personal protective equipment and occupational stress, considering dimensions such as biological and ergonomic risks, as well as emotional aspects related to professional performance. Statistical analysis made it possible to identify the relationship between the study variables. The results showed a significant relationship between the rational use of personal protective equipment and the level of occupational stress among the surgical team, demonstrating that inadequate or insufficient use of PPE is associated with higher stress levels among healthcare professionals. Furthermore, proper use of PPE contributes to reducing exposure to occupational risks and improving staff well-being. It is concluded that strengthening continuous training and promoting the rational use of personal protective equipment are essential to reduce occupational stress and ensure safe working conditions in the surgical environment.
