Ítem Acceso abierto Family Functionality and Adherence to Treatment in Patients with Tuberculosis of the New Llegar Health Center, Comas, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-04-08) Flores Sotelo, Julissa de los Angeles; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoObjective: To determine the relationship between family functionality and treatment adherence in patients with tuberculosis. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted. The study population consisted of 83 tuberculosis patients. Two tools were used with validated questionnaires: the family Apgar test and Morisk Green, instruments that measured family functionality and treatment adherence. Results: Family functionality was classified as a functional family by 56.6% and as a dysfunctional family by 43.4%. It was also observed that 57.8% showed non-adherence to anti-tuberculosis treatment, compared to 42.2% who are adherent, so we can see that when crossing the variables of Family Functionality and Adherence to Treatment we found Functional Adherent Family is 37.3% and Dysfunctional Family Adherent to Treatment 4.8% which both add up to 42.2% and for our study 35 patients, likewise Functional Family Non-Adherent to Treatment is 19.3% and Dysfunctional Family Non-Adherent to Treatment 38.6% which both add up to 57.8% and for our study 48 patients (35 of 83) who did. Conclusions: Family functionality is associated with adherence to treatment in patients with tuberculosis.
