    Problemas relacionados al medicamento en adultos mayores con diabetes mellitus tipo II que se atienden en el Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho 2021

    The objective of this research was to determine the drug-related problems (DRPs) in older adult patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who visit the San Juan de Lurigancho Hospital in 2021. Methodology: This was a deductive, observational, and retrospective study with a quantitative analysis. It included 450 prescriptions and pharmacotherapeutic follow-up forms for older adult patients with Type 2 diabetes from January to March 2021. These forms were reviewed for DRP evaluation. Results: A total of 208 DRPs were detected in patients with Type 2 diabetes. Of the total DRP cases (154), the majority were safety concerns (77% or 118), followed by effectiveness concerns (18% or 27), and necessity concerns (6% or 9), with a total of 131 actual cases.
