    Effectiveness of ethylene oxide in the sterilization process of polymer materials

    The data search examined the effectiveness of ethylene oxide in polymeric materials. According to the results obtained from the systematic review, they show that, of the total of 10 articles reviewed, 30% (3) of these correspond to the United States, 30% (3) correspond to Brazil, 10% (1) correspond to Cuba , 10% (1) corresponds to Guatemala, 10% (1) to Venezuela and 10% (1) to Argentina. Conclusions: The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles on the effectiveness of ethylene oxide in polymer material, all of them correspond to the type and design of experimental studies - clinical trial. It was evident in the research reviewed that there is greater effectiveness of ethylene oxide in polymer material due to its great effectiveness; perfect for thermosensitive materials since sterilization is done at low temperature, which guarantees non-deformation and non-destruction of the elements; excellent diffusion coefficient in packaging, in places of difficult accessibility and penetration into folds; and the process does not alter the physical qualities of the sterilized product.
