Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge about prevention of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation and the practice of nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit of a national hospital I-4, Lima 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-25) Galindo Guillen, Kaaren Threisy; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoIntroduction: Neonatal ICU nurses play a critical role in the prevention of VAPN. They are responsible for the direct care of patients receiving mechanical ventilation, and their actions can have a significant impact on the risk of infection. Nurses' knowledge and practice of VAPV prevention are important factors that may influence the incidence of VAPV. Objective: "To determine how the level of knowledge about prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonias is related to the practice of nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit". Methodology: Using the hypothetico-deductive method and a quantitative approach, a non-experimental applied research study will be conducted at a correlational and cross-sectional level. The census sample of 76 nurses will be given a knowledge questionnaire whose validity has been tested and has a reliability of Cronbach's Alpha = 0.96. In addition, the nurses' practice will be observed and measured using a valid observation guide with a reliability of KR-20=0.83. The statistical program SPSS 26 will be used for data analysis. The presentation and discussion of the results will be done through tables and figures.
