For every nurse who works in intensive care units, sedoanalgesia is their basic pillar since the majority of critically ill patients require its use. Therefore, the main objective: Determine the knowledge and practices that nurses have in caring for patients with sedation in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit of the Dos de Mayo Hospital. The study material and method has a quantitative approach, a non-experimental design, and a descriptive level, because it allowed us to describe everything related to the variables, that is, the knowledge and practices that nurses have about the care of patients with sedation. The sample for the study will consist of 30 nurses. The present study has 2 data collection instruments, which are: The questionnaire: Its objective is to identify the knowledge that nurses have in caring for patients with sedation, according to pre-established items. Checklist: Its objective is to control compliance with a set of requirements and will serve to evaluate the nurse's practices in caring for the sedated patient, which consists of 3 parts before, during and after sedation.
