Ítem Acceso abierto Lifestyles and cardiovascular risk in nursing professionals from the emergency service of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins National Hospital, 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-11-08) Galindo Roca, José Antonio; Mori Castro, Jaime AlbertoObjective: To determine the relationship between lifestyle and cardiovascular risk in nursing staff in the emergency department of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospital, 2020. Materials and methods: The study follows a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional and correlational design. The sample consists of nursing professionals from the emergency department of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospital in 2020. According to the human resources department, there are currently 50 nursing professionals employed. All professionals who meet the inclusion criteria will be included. The research method is the survey, and the lifestyle assessment tool is the PEPS-I Lifestyle Profile Questionnaire. Cardiovascular risk will be evaluated using the cardiovascular risk calculator developed by the WHO for the Latin American population, including Peru. Both instruments have been validated in Peru. The instruments will be applied during August and September 2020. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis will be performed to determine the relationship between the two variables. The four bioethical principles of research—autonomy, non-maleficence, beneficence, and justice—will be followed.
