    Uso de medios audiovisuales y las habilidades cognitivas en estudiantes de la carrera de obstetricia en una universidad pública de Lima Metropolitana, 2023

    The objective of this work was to determine the relationship between the use of audiovisual media and cognitive abilities in students of the obstetrics career at a public university in Metropolitan Lima, 2023. The methodology was a quantitative approach, type applied, relational level, design non-experimental, transectional and prospective, where the sample was 100 obstetrics students in the third and fourth year of a public university in Metropolitan Lima, 2023. For data analysis, absolute and relative frequency estimates were made; Regarding the inferential analysis, non-parametric tests such as Spearman's rho were used. The results reveal that the use of audiovisual media was at an elementary level (27%) and cognitive abilities were developed (50%). It was observed that there is a positive and significant coherence between the use of audiovisual media and its dimensions: knowledge (p=0.000, rho: 0.790), cognition planning (p=0.007, rho: 0.269), organization of cognition (p =0.007, rho: 0.785), monitoring of cognition (p=0.000, rho: 0.566) and purification of cognition (p=0.001, rho: 0.333), however, there is no significant consistency between the use of audiovisual media and the evaluation of cognition (p=0.056) in obstetrics students. In conclusion, there is a positive coherence, strong, and significant consistency between the use of audiovisual media and cognitive abilities (p=0.000, rho: 0.785) in obstetrics students at a public university in Metropolitan Lima, 2023.
