Lima 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-09-16) Gamarra Manuelo, Elizabeth Veronica; Caldas Herrera, EmmaThe research aimed to analyze the factors influencing adherence to antidepressant treatment in patients treated at the Nuevo Perú Community Mental Health Center. Method: Observational, cross-sectional, non-experimental type. The study included 200 patients with depression. The technique used was a questionnaire and the Morisky Green test. Results: 73% had low adherence; 95% live with their families; 52% are unemployed, and 55% have no income; 95% receive all their medications; 35% have been in treatment for 6 to 12 months; 48% take two medications; 48% experienced adverse reactions; 84% are aware of their diagnosis; 81% believe their attitude is good; 41% are between 30 and 49 years old; 72% are women; 54% stop taking their medication because they felt better; 91% consider the treatments effective; 96% trust healthcare professionals, and 89% believe the care is good. Conclusions: Non-adherence to antidepressant treatments is influenced by various interconnected factors, including socioeconomic aspects, treatment characteristics, the patient, the illness, and the medical team. Currently, there is no effective strategy to prevent non-adherence.
