    Estado nutricional y consumo de suplementos dietéticos en adultos mayores que asisten a una botica en los Próceres, Lima – 2023

    The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between nutritional status and the consumption of dietary supplements among older adults attending a pharmacy in Los Próceres, Lima, in 2023. The study employed a hypothetical-deductive method, with a basic type of research, a quantitative approach, and a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational design. The population was composed of 6,048 older adults who visited the pharmacy in Los Próceres, while the sample included 361 individuals, selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. The results showed significant findings, revealing a direct relationship between nutritional status and the consumption of food supplements (Sig.=0.000) and dietary products (Sig.=0.000). Conversely, no significant relationship was observed between nutritional status and the consumption of enteral nutrition (Sig.=0.464). Furthermore, there was no statistically significant association between dietary supplement consumption and anthropometric assessment (Sig.=0.068). Nonetheless, significant correlations were identified with self-perception (Sig.=0.000), dietary assessment (Sig.=0.004), and risk status (Sig.=0.000). In conclusion, the study confirms the existence of a relationship between nutritional status and the consumption of dietary supplements among older adults attending a pharmacy in Los Próceres, Lima, in 2023 (Sig.=0.000).
