Methodology: through a descriptive correlational research and the consultations and surveys among students, which contributed to determine the relationship between methodological strategies and the development of skills in general labor competencies in students of 10 and 11 high school students of the Educational Institution Jose Celestino Mutis of Bucaramanga, Santander .; with the purpose of having an input that allows to find the relation of the methodological strategies with the development of the labor competences that favor the development of skills in labor competences. Results and Conclusions: The correlation coefficient rho = 0.6650 with a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05) determines a good correlation and allows to affirm that there is a positive and significant relationship between the use of methodological strategies and the development of the labor competences in the students of the 10th and 11th grade in the Colegio José Celestino Mutis. The first thing that must be said in front of the results is that they show that when it comes to developing work skills, a series of active and / or participatory teaching methodologies should be implemented in the classroom. case of the formulation of projects with test, elaboration and organizational strategies.
