Physical activity can be classified as low, moderate, or vigorous based on its intensity and frequency. The Body Mass Index (BMI) is an indicator derived from the ratio of weight to height. Physical activity is important for reducing obesity rates in the population, which is a risk factor for many metabolic diseases, non-communicable chronic diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases. By understanding physical activity levels and BMI, we can determine how active people are at different BMI levels, identify the at-risk population, and intervene preventively to reduce the aforementioned diseases and future emotional and economic consequences. This research focuses on university students because the majority of this population is in early adulthood, which is a key age for the prevention and creation of healthy habits to avoid non-communicable chronic diseases.
