    Risk factors for urinary tract infection in kidney transplant patients

    Objective: To analyze and synthesize the results of the systematic review of studies on risk factors for urinary infections in renal transplant patients. Methodology: This is a systematic review where 17 articles were selected from databases such as LILACS, SCIELO, PUBMED, GOOGLE ACADEMIC, CLINICAL TRANSPLANTATION, ELSERVIER, COCHRANE. The Grade assessment was used to evaluate evidence quality. Results: The risk factors for urinary infection in renal transplant patients are mostly female sex, invasive urological procedures, prolonged catheter use, diabetes, kidney stones, vesicoureteral reflux, and advanced age, among others. Conclusion: Renal transplant patients are at risk of urinary tract infections due to factors like sex, diabetes, kidney stones, and urological anomalies, aggravated by the urological procedures they undergo.
