Publicación Acceso abierto Estudio de utilización de medicamentos y cumplimiento de buenas prácticas de prescripción en el Puesto de Salud 5 de mayo durante el año 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-25) Giraldo Llancay, Pamela Susan; Puma Flores, Madeleine Lisette; Ramos Jaco, Antonio GuillermoEnsuring the quality and safety of medical prescriptions and drug use is essential. The objective of this study was to determine the level of compliance with Good Prescribing Practices in the use of prescribed medications at the Centro de Salud 5 de Mayo during 2021. The research was historical-comparative, basic, quantitative, descriptive, retrospective, and cross-sectional. A total of 846 medical prescriptions were analyzed using the documentary analysis technique and a data capture form, with a 95% confidence level. The results indicated that, in 2021, compliance with Good Prescribing Practices was low in 40.3% of prescriptions, medium in 31.9%, and high in only 27.8%. The general medicine service was responsible for the highest proportion of prescriptions (85.7%), and paracetamol was the most frequently prescribed medication, appearing in 10.6% of prescriptions. On average, each prescription contained 2.05 medications. In conclusion, enhancing compliance with Good Prescribing Practices at the Centro de Salud 5 de Mayo, as well as broadening the range of services and medications prescribed, will provide opportunities to improve the quality of prescriptions and promote more appropriate use of medications, thereby improving patient care.
