Ítem Acceso abierto Quality of life and functional dependence in older adult patients undergoing hemodialysis in the nephrology service of the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen Hospital – 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-11-29) Gonzales Ydrogo, Flormira; Mori Castro, Jaime AlbertoChronic kidney disease is a multifactorial pathophysiological process of gradual and irreversible condition that leads to a terminal state, where the patient demands renal replacement therapy, that is, dialysis or transplant in order to survive. Elderly patients on hemodialysis have greater associated comorbidity and worse quality of life, associated with a high degree of dependency. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the level of quality of life and functional dependence in older adult patients undergoing hemodialysis at the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen Hospital - 2020. The present research is quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational. . The population and sample will be made up of 84 elderly patients with functional dependence undergoing hemodialysis in the Nephrology service during the months of July to September 2020. The technique for data collection is the survey and the instrument is two questionnaires: SF - 36 that evaluates quality of life, and the Barthel Index that evaluates functional dependence.
