Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of nursing care in the administration of blood derivatives in emergency patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-01-27) Grados López, Andrea; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: To analyze and systematize evidence on the effectiveness of nursing care in the administration of blood derivatives in emergency patients. Materials and Methods: This is a qualitative study with a systematic review design. The search was conducted using scientific databases such as Cochrane Plus, Lilacs, PubMed, Lancet, and Scielo. The study population consisted of 37 articles, with a sample of 10 articles, and for validity, the articles were evaluated using a rating system that assesses evidence quality and strength of recommendation. Results: Of the 100% of articles, 50% are from Spain, 30% from Mexico, and 20% from Venezuela. Regarding study designs, 30% are systematic reviews, 50% are quantitative cross-sectional descriptive studies, 10% are clinical trials, and 10% are quasi-experimental studies. Conclusions: 90% of the studies show the effectiveness of nursing care in blood transfusions, as nurses provide comprehensible information to patients, verify correct data, monitor and record vital signs, remain with the patient during the transfusion, reduce patient anxiety, manage adverse reactions, avoid complications, and use protocols. Only 10% of studies indicate that care is not effective due to a need for training, which compromises the physical integrity and health of patients.
