Ítem Acceso abierto Risk factors for growth and reticulocyte hemoglobin in babies aged 6 to 12 months treated at the Cerropón-Chiclayo Health Center, January-March 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-07) Granda García, Irma Del Carmen; Avelino Callupe, Paul FortunatoThe prevalence of anemia is a global public health issue, primarily affecting children and pregnant women, with iron deficiency being one of the most common types of anemia related to daily diet. According to the WHO, approximately 42% of children under five and 40% of pregnant women suffer from anemia. Iron plays a crucial role in hemoglobin production, and its deficiency can have substantial and irreversible consequences on brain development. This is particularly concerning during rapid brain cell growth and differentiation, as it could negatively impact learning processes and academic performance later in life. The aim of this project is to determine the relationship between growth risk factors and reticulocyte hemoglobin levels in infants aged 6 to 12 months treated at the Cerropón-Chiclayo health center from January to March 2022. A retrospective and descriptive analysis will be carried out using a quantitative, correlational, and cross-sectional research design. The sample will consist of 264 children aged 6 to 12 months. The correlation study will seek to identify the inverse relationship between growth dimensions and reticulocyte hemoglobin levels.
