The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between lifestyles and self-care in patients with hypertension in a public health facility in Piura in the year 2022. A quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive study was proposed correlational and cross-sectional. The population was made up of patients with non-communicable diseases registered in the nominal register of the health establishment, with the participation of 100 patients diagnosed with arterial hypertension, who were given control and treatment. Two instruments were applied, to measure the lifestyle variable, the Walker, Sechrist, Pender lifestyle scale was used, modified by the researchers Delgado, R.; Reyna, E. and Díaz, R. and for the self-care variable, the questionnaire “Self-care agency capacity in patients with arterial hypertension by Achury, Sepúlveda, Rodríguez” was used. The data collected was analyzed in the Excel 2016 and SPSS version 25 programs. The Chi-square test (x2) was applied to determine the relationship between the variables. The results indicated that 80% of the total number of patients surveyed presented an unhealthy lifestyle and 20% a healthy lifestyle, also 61% presented a medium level of self-care, 17% high and 14% low. Concluding that there is a statistically significant relationship between lifestyles and self-care in patients with arterial hypertension in a public health facility I-4 in the Piura Region, 2022 (p < 0.05).
