Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between the level of physical activity and performance academic in secondary education students, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-18) Guevara Chumpitaz, Olga; Vera Arriola, Juan AméricoDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person school activities were suspended, leading to changes in students' lifestyles. Reports suggest a 50% decrease in physical activity levels in this age group, which could lead to metabolic changes and muscle strength loss. The adaptation of students to new confinement circumstances also affected their study habits, a crucial factor in academic performance. This study aimed to determine the relationship between physical activity and academic performance in secondary education students at Unión School, Chosica, in 2023. A quantitative, observational, and cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 90 students. The instruments used were the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and the weighted average of the semester 2023-1. The results showed that, on average, the sample's age was 15.47 years, with a majority of female students (62.2%). A significant prevalence of students with moderate physical activity levels (44.4%) and good academic performance (63.3%) was observed. However, when analyzing the relationship between physical activity and academic performance, a p-value of 0.389 was found, indicating no statistically significant correlation between these variables.
