Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of nursing care for the arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-12) Guevara Mendoza, Fanny; Corrales Pérez, Erika Vanesa; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerMaterials and Methods: This is a quantitative study with a systematic review design. The population consisted of 38, and the sample included 10 articles. The instruments used were Lilacs, Scielo, Cochrane Plus, Pubmed, Medline, Epistemonikos, Elsevier. Results: Of the total articles, 70% show that nursing care such as assessment, cannulation method, choice of needle fistulas, and evaluation of risks and complications regarding the arteriovenous fistula are effective in ensuring vascular access preservation. Additionally, 30% of the articles highlight the importance of the knowledge imparted by nephrology nursing professionals to the patient, aiming to improve and promote self-care. Conclusions: Of the 10 articles, 7 conclude that nursing care for the arteriovenous fistula is effective, allowing the fistula's survival time to be prolonged for patient treatment. Of the remaining 3 articles, they emphasize that the knowledge level of the healthcare personnel is essential and should be passed on to patients, improving their self-care and increasing the quality of life. Greater knowledge leads to better self-care and longer fistula survival.
