Publicación Acceso abierto Uso Indiscriminado de ivermectina para COVID-19 en usuarios atendidos en boticas ubicadas en los alrededores de Lecaros en Puente Piedra, marzo – 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-08-09) Aguayo Ariza, Milagros Magaly; Guia Campos, Grecia Myriam; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelIntroduction: Currently, COVID-19 is a major global public health problem due to its infective capacity and high pathogenicity. Objective: This study aimed to demonstrate how COVID-19 is related to the indiscriminate use of ivermectin among users served at drugstores in the vicinity of Lecaros, Puente Piedra, in March 2021. Method: The research used an inductive method, with a quantitative approach, a basic type, and a descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The instrument used was a questionnaire, which was applied to 380 users who visited drugstores in the Lecaros area. Results: It was found that 61.7% reported a high level of self-medication, and 65.1% reported a high consumption of ivermectin. A high presence of symptoms was found at 65.4%. Furthermore, 44% undertook a high level of treatment, and 60.9% engaged in a high level of prevention. Conclusions: It was demonstrated that COVID-19 is related to the indiscriminate use of ivermectin.
