Publicación Acceso abierto Relación entre inteligencia emocional y autocuidado de salud en escolares de una institución educativa, Alto Libertad - Madre de Dios, 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-05-22) Guillen Loayza, Tania; Yacarini Martínez, Antero EnriqueObjective: To establish the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Self Health Care in schoolchildren at an elementary school in Alto Libertad, Madre de Dios, 2024. Materials and methods: This was a correlational study, based on a quantitative paradigm. The cross-sectional measurement used the Self-Care Agency Assessment Scale and the Emotional Intelligence Test. The study involved a population of 318 schoolchildren, from which 124 sample units were probabilistically drawn. Results: Emotional Intelligence (IE) exhibits a low (0.287), direct, and significant (bilateral Sig. = 0.001) relationship with Self Health Care (AS). In the dimensional analysis it is found that: Self-concept presents a very low relationship (0.185), direct and significant (Sig. Bilateral = 0.04) with AS in schoolchildren from an IE Alto Libertad, Madre de Dios, 2024. Empathy presents a low relationship (0.244), direct and significant (Sig. (bilateral) = 0.006) with AS in schoolchildren from an IE Alto Libertad, Madre de Dios, 2024. Self-confidence presents a low relationship (0.244), direct and significant (Sig. (bilateral) = 0.002) with AS in schoolchildren from an IE Alto Libertad, Madre de Dios, 2024. Motivation presents a very low relationship (0.169), direct and non-significant (Sig. (bilateral) = 0.060) with AS in schoolchildren from an IE Alto Libertad, Madre de Dios, 2024. Self-control presents a low relationship (0.260), direct and significant (Sig. (bilateral)=0.004) with AS in schoolchildren from an EI in Alto Libertad, Madre de Dios, 2024. Social behavior has a very low (0.199), direct, and significant relationship (Sig. (bilateral)=0.027) with AS in schoolchildren from an EI in Alto Libertad, Madre de Dios, 2024. Conclusion: Emotional intelligence is related to self-care.
