    Efficacy of laparoscopic versus open nephrectomy for reducing complications and hospital stay in adult living donors

    Objective: To evaluate whether laparoscopic nephrectomy is more effective than open nephrectomy in reducing complications and hospital stay in adult living donors. Material and methods: The systematic review of the 10 scientific articles found in the following databases: Pubmed, Clinical Key, Springer Link, OvidInsights beta, Wiley One Library. They allowed us to find 10 scientific evidence. Within the 10 evidence, the type of research is 60% (6/10) experimental, 30% (3/10) systematic review and 10% (1/10) meta-analysis. Results: 100% (n = 10/10) of the evidence found (15,16,17,18,19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25) indicate that laparoscopic nephrectomy is more effective for decrease in complications and hospital stay of adult living donors. Conclusion: Laparoscopic nephrectomy is more effective than open nephrectomy in reducing complications and hospital stay in adult living donors.
