    Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death worldwide. CVD is closely related to lifestyle and modifiable physiological and biochemical factors. Preventive cardiovascular measures must begin with lifestyle changes. Interventions at different levels are necessary to promote the adoption and maintenance of more active and healthy habits in the entire population. Changes towards a heart-healthy lifestyle in adult men should begin with preventive medical check-ups from the age of 30 and generally consider regular physical activity, heart-healthy nutrition, complete cessation of smoking and control of body weight.
